We cannot think of our life without water as it is the most important element in our life the precious material or gift of nature is under threat – pollution. As human activities continue to expand, all the waste is dumped into the water bodies making things difficult for humans and animals. Today we will be checking out the various reasons for water pollution. So let’s get into the article to check out the courses of water pollution.
Causes of water pollution
There are various factors involved in water pollution and you can check out them below.
Industrial Discharges:
Industrial activities are essential for our library hood but the same creates a major problem for water bodies by releasing harmful chemicals, heavy metals, and toxins that can contaminate rivers, lakes, and oceans. Inadequate waste management practices contribute to the direct discharge of pollutants, leading to water quality deterioration. So it is one of the areas where we need to concentrate and work hard.
Agricultural Runoff:
The way of agriculture is changed and these days farmers use fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in agriculture which is actually creating a significant threat to water quality. Now you might be thinking how it will affect the water quality, relax I will explain. When it rains, these chemicals can be washed into nearby water sources and the same will create nutrient imbalances, algal blooms, and harm aquatic life.
Urbanization and Stormwater Runoff:
It is another major concern as the expansion of surfaces like roads and pavements creates difficulties of rainwater from naturally infiltrating the ground. Instead, it flows over these surfaces, picking up pollutants such as oil, heavy metals, and debris before entering water bodies. This stormwater runoff can have detrimental effects on aquatic ecosystems.
Wastewater Disposal:
Improper disposal of domestic and industrial wastewater is a significant cause of water pollution. Untreated or inadequately treated sewage released into water bodies introduces harmful bacteria, pathogens, and nutrients, leading to waterborne diseases and ecosystem imbalances.
Dumping materials:
We also dump our waste including oils, plastic, and heavy metals in water bodies which also creates the problem of pollution in the precious gift from nature.
So these are the major causes of water pollution and we would recommend you to be responsible and don’t follow the habit of controlling the pollution and to keep the precious gifted forever on our planet.
